Even though we went in an hour early today, the sun was shining brightly. However, there was quite a glaze on the pavement. We tried to take our shortcut behind our grocery store which is a little uphill, but we couldn't get any traction and just slid backwards, so we walked on the sidewalk, which was just as glazed over, but level!! But it was sunny and just at freezing...so not so bad.
The Russians have an Easter tradition that we didn't get to see demonstrated because they don't celebrate Easter for another 5 weeks. When you greet someone you say, "xpactocb bocrpece (Christos voskres)," which means Christ has Risen! The person receiving the greeting says, "воистину bocrpece (Voistinu voskres!) or Indeed he is Risen! At which time you kiss each other on the cheek three times! What a civilized customer! We have a few weeks to get those expressions down pat.
Well, I am going to check out. It is time for some zzzzzzzzzz's.
